Instrumental Jazz Combos with Michael Occhipinti, Barry Romberg and Kevin Turcotte

While the Jazz Standards Combo focuses on the great American Songbook, these combos will perform the innovative compositions written by jazz instrumentalists in a variety of styles.

The class may touch on everything from the 1940's bebop of Charlie Parker and the 1960's modal jazz of John Coltrane to the current compositions of modern jazz artists such as John Scofield or Branford Marsalis, and music composed by Lake Field Music's own faculty.

Artistic Director Michael Occhipinti will place individuals in specific combos, based on the information provided in the course selection form.

Is this class for you?

These groups are aimed at intermediate/advanced instrumentalists who are comfortable reading lead sheets and playing scales in various keys, and have had some exposure to improvising. Each group has limited enrollment; space is still available.
