This distinct ensemble will learn music that fuses jazz and improvisation with the unique music of India, as well as touching on elements of African music and funk. Participants will learn about the scales and rhythms used in Indian music and will perform pieces that put that material to use.

Is this class for you?

Intermediate and advanced students taking this course should be comfortable reading lead sheets and learning new scales, and have had some exposure to jazz and improvising.
