In jazz, blues, funk and popular music, guitarists, pianists, bassists and drummers work together to create the foundation for many ensembles.

This class will focus on the techniques and approaches these instrumentalists need to work together in different genres.

The class will discuss skills such as how to accompany soloists, improve listening skills and rhythm, create groove, and shape a performance. A specific piece will be learned alongside audio examples to illustrate the issues being worked on.

Is this class for you?

This class is for intermediate/advanced guitarists, bassists, drummers and keyboard players who can follow lead sheets. This class will not perform at the end of the week.
