Handbells are excellent for learning ensemble playing. Unlike an orchestra or choir where a musician is responsible for one line of the texture, each musician in a handbell choir is responsible for particular notes, sounding his or her assigned bell whenever that note appears in the music. |
Ringing handbells reinforces and strengthens the ability to ready music, enhances rhythm and makes counting beats second nature. In this class, each ringer will be assigned a set of bells and will learn to perform as an ensemble. Try this out for a unique musical experience! |
Is this class for you? This intermediate class is designed for ringers who have participated in the past or who have previous handbell ringing experience. Basic sight-reading skills are required. |
